I started painting with acrylics at a young age. I would paint anything from realism to fantasy. I always focused on detail whether I was drawing or painting. My talent for creating detailed drawings led me to pursue a career in mechanical drafting. After five years I left that field and landed my first professional art job for an embroidery company drawing logos and jacket back designs. I continued to paint on the side, including murals and some air brushing. My passion for painting led me away from the corporate world. Always growing and challenging myself as an artist, I decided to go in a different direction and try abstract. I like the freedom because there are no rules or boundaries. My paintings can be described as fantasy meets abstract. I like to combine vibrant colors with the use of several different techniques to show detail and movement in my paintings. I want the viewer to be enthralled and to use their imagination — seeing anything from dragons to far away stars and planets. My ideas develop anywhere from my spirituality to my love of music, space, and nature. I always challenge myself to create something different and meaningful. I paint mostly with fluid acrylics, inks, and resin but enjoy working with all types of mixed media.
